We believe that all belief is preceded by and rooted in love for God and all People.
(Matthew 22:35-40; John 13:34-35; 1 Corinthians 13; 1 John 4:7-8, 21)
We believe the Bible is the living inspired word of God, that it best reveals God and the life God intends for everyone in every age, and that Jesus, as The Word, is the best lens through which to understand the Bible.
(John 1:1-2,14; 2 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:12; 13:7-8)
We believe there is only one being who is God and we believe God exists in three persons as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:21-22; Ephesians 4:4-6)
We believe the Father sent the Son into the world by the power of the Spirit, and that the Son was named Jesus, that he lived, died, was resurrected, and ascended to Heaven as one who was both fully human and fully divine.
(Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-27; John 1:1,13; Matthew 28:5-7; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:3; 2:14-18; 1 John 4:1-2, 14-15)
We believe God created every person equally in the image of God regardless of one’s gender, race, or ethnicity, and we believe that God invites all human beings to enter into a covenant relationship with God through Jesus for the good of the world.
(Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 12:1-3; Galatians 3:26-29; John 14:6; Romans 8:18-21)
We believe Salvation is made known to us by God the Father, made possible in God the Son, and made effective through God the Spirit, and we believe it is only by God’s grace that salvation is available to human beings. We receive Salvation by faith in Jesus alone and we believe this faith is expressed by our confession of Jesus as King, the repentance of sin, baptism and an ongoing apprenticeship to the Way of Jesus in this world.
(John 17:1-7; Romans 6:3-4; Romans 8:11; Ephesians 1:11-14;2:8-10; Hebrews 2:10-12)
We believe the Church is a community of Spirit-filled, Jesus-shaped people who gather to worship and to join Jesus at his table in order to celebrate him and the life into which he has invited all people to participate. And we believe the Church is also a community sent out on mission to renew our city by proclaiming the Good News and the Way of Jesus to everyone in every place.
(Matthew 28:19-20; 2 Corinthians 5:16-21; Luke 24:46-47; Acts 2:42-47)
